William Russell

I served for 22 years as an infantryman in the United States Army, experiencing four combat deployments in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. I earned my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Utah, completing internships at Jordan Valley West's inpatient unit and the Salt Lake City Veterans Medical Center's PTSD clinic. Currently, I am working on my PhD dissertation titled “Differentiation of post-traumatic stress disorder and military transition stress”. Since 2018, I have been in private practice as an individual therapist, and have worked at a teen residential facility as a family therapist. I have taught courses on the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders and Psychopathologies at the University of Utah's College of Social Work and conducted research with the National Center for Veterans Studies on suicide and posttraumatic stress disorder at the University of Utah's Department of Psychology. Licensure & Affiliations I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Utah, a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). I am also professionally certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma.
