Meet Dr. Sasha

Hello, I'm Dr. Sasha Johnson, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Author, Professor, and Inspirational Speaker. I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, and I'm a proud single mother of two wonderful sons. My journey in mental health has been driven by a deep commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others, particularly women and children. I founded Sisters 2nd Chance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and children facing difficult phases in their lives. As President and Founder, I work tirelessly to fight against mental health stigma and homelessness, providing valuable resources and support for families in need. This mission is close to my heart, and I believe in the power of community and resilience. In my role as the Chief Executive Officer of Sasha Mercedes, LLC, I engage in interviews, speaking engagements, and have been featured in esteemed magazines such as VoyageATL, Afroelle Magazine, ACHI Magazine, and Sheen Magazine. These platforms allow me to reach a wider audience and share my expertise on mental health, resilience, and gratitude. As the CEO of Inside and Out Consulting, LLC, I specialize in trauma, relationships, and serving the LGBTQIA+ community. My private practice is a space where clients can find the support and guidance they need to overcome their challenges. I am passionate about creating a safe and inclusive environment for all my clients. In addition to my clinical work, I am an adjunct professor at Yorkville and California University, where I teach Psychology and Counseling. I love imparting my knowledge and expertise to my students, equipping them with the skills they need to excel in their chosen fields. I have authored approximately six books on mental health, resilience, and gratitude. Writing allows me to extend my reach and provide valuable resources for individuals seeking guidance and inspiration on their journey towards personal growth and well-being. Through my multifaceted roles, I strive to make a significant impact in the field of mental health. My unwavering commitment to fighting mental health stigma, supporting women and children, and inspiring others is a testament to my passion and dedication. If you're looking for support and guidance, I invite you to reach out and start your journey with me.
