Meet Brad

Brad Brogdon is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCP) dedicated to supporting first responders and individuals coping with trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. With a background as a retired Probation and Parole Officer, Brad brings a unique blend of professional experience and personal passion to his counseling practice. His work focuses on helping those who serve our communities, particularly first responders, navigate the emotional and psychological challenges of their demanding careers. Brad’s journey into mental health began with his years of service in law enforcement, where he developed a deep understanding of the unique pressures and trauma experienced by those in high-stress, high-risk professions. Having worked closely with individuals facing crises, legal challenges, and societal issues, Brad saw firsthand the toll these experiences can take on mental well-being. This realization sparked his passion for helping others, particularly those in first responder roles, build resilience and find balance in their lives. Brad is a firm believer in a holistic, personalized approach to therapy, recognizing that no single method works for everyone. He integrates a variety of therapeutic techniques to address the full spectrum of mental health concerns, including trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. His approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and nature-based therapies. In particular, Brad uses a positive, holistic approach that embraces the therapeutic benefits of nature and the healing power of outdoor environments. He believes that time spent in nature can play a pivotal role in emotional healing and mental clarity, especially for first responders who often struggle with burnout, PTSD, and compassion fatigue. By combining these outdoor experiences with evidence-based therapy techniques, Brad is able to help clients reconnect with themselves and their surroundings in a meaningful way. A key component of Brad’s therapeutic philosophy is his commitment to ongoing professional development. He is currently in the process of becoming EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) certified, a therapy method known for its effectiveness in treating trauma, PTSD, and other deeply rooted emotional challenges. This will allow Brad to offer even more comprehensive care to clients seeking relief from traumatic experiences. Brad’s background as a Probation and Parole Officer enhances his ability to relate to clients who are facing complex life circumstances. He understands the importance of providing non-judgmental, compassionate support while also helping clients develop practical strategies for managing their mental health. He works with a wide range of clients, including individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as first responders, law enforcement personnel, and others in high-stress professions. Areas of Expertise:  First Responder Wellness: Specializing in mental health issues faced by police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders, with a focus on trauma, burnout, PTSD, and compassion fatigue.  Trauma & Grief Counseling: Providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals coping with trauma, loss, and grief, helping them process difficult emotions and move forward with resilience.  Anxiety & Depression: Offering strategies and therapies to manage symptoms of anxiety and depression, empowering clients to reclaim their mental health and well-being.  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Utilizing evidence-based practices to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns, improving emotional regulation and overall mental health.  Holistic Wellness: Emphasizing the mind-body connection and integrating nature, mindfulness, and other holistic approaches into therapy to promote well- being.  EMDR Therapy (Future Certification): Soon to be certified in EMDR, providing specialized care for trauma and PTSD survivors. Brad’s compassionate, solution-focused approach ensures that each client receives individualized care tailored to their unique needs. Whether you are a first responder, a member of a high-stress profession, or someone struggling with personal trauma, Brad is committed to helping you regain control of your life and find the healing and peace you deserve.
