You may not have noticed, but it seems like everyone is more stressed than usual. Anxiety and depression are high and many people struggle in their jobs and relationships because of it. Is this a part of your story? If it is, it may be because you are dealing with unresolved trauma. The ages of birth to 18 years of age are pivotal to the growth of us all and that is the point where most trauma begins. Whether it is "big T" trauma or "little T" trauma, if it is still impacting you today you deserve an opportunity to address it in your way and in your own time with a therapist who is experienced, professional, and determined to help you. I started my professional journey in mental health in 2016. Since then, I have worked with at-risk youth and their families, young adults, Veterans, active-duty military personnel, single mothers, and couples of all types. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and currently work with adults aged 18 and up and couples in-person at my Clarksville, Tennessee office and online. What I enjoy about what I do is seeing my clients finally become their authentic selves and learn self-compassion after the storm that trauma left behind. As a childhood trauma survivor myself, I stress the importance of, "being kind to you" and taking care of self in a holistic way. I am trained in TF-CBT and I use somatic (body-based) interventions with my clients to assist with regulation and recovery. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with an awareness of the importance of providing education about trauma and its effects to those who need this information. I strive to see my clients get their, "why?" answered and connect their past experiences to their present existence without constantly talking about the bad stuff that has happened. Therapy can be a scary, but rewarding experience. If you have read this profile up to this point, you may be ready for your mental wellness journey to begin.
